Take steps to implement the changes/actions you see below. Once you are actively doing something on the list, and you've made it a habit, move on to forming a habit doing the next item on the list. Take it a step at a time, but feel free to do multiple things on the list at once if you can!
- Read your Bible every day (Romans 12:2).
- No longer make excuses for inactivity or stagnancy in your life (Proverbs 22:13, Ecclesiastes 11:4,6). Accept your need for change.
- To build self-control, get vigorous exercise every week (1 Corinthians 9:24-27).
- To increase self-control, get vigorous exercise at least 3-4 times per week (1 Corinthians 9:24-27).
- To continue to increase self-discipline and self-control, fast (eating no calories and drinking only water) for a full 24 hours once per week (Psalm 35:13, Psalm 69:10). Pray, while fasting, for greater self-control in the area of laziness.
- Write an hour-by-hour schedule for yourself so that you can use your time more wisely (Ephesians 5:15-16).
- Fill your calendar with productive or helpful activities so that you don't have idle time (Ezekiel 16:49).
- Wake up early instead of sleeping in (Proverbs 31:15).
- Do at least one longer fast (3 days or more), and plan to do longer fasts on a regular basis.
- Chose to embrace being uncomfortable (Proverbs 20:4, 21:25), and do things that make you uncomfortable.
