Verses 1-6

Even though the nation of Israel, like many others, has rejected the gospel, there is always a small number of people (a remnant) that God is saving.

There are always Jews that are accepting the gospel, so share the gospel with Jews too!

This is true of everyone on the planet. But remember that those who are saved are a small number (Matthew 7:13-14).

Verses 7-24

Verses 7-11. The greater portion of Israel is blinded, but for a purpose:

Verses 12-15. The stubbornness of the Jews caused the gospel to be brought to the Gentiles instead (Acts 13:46).

And how the Gentiles are saved is meant to make the Jewish people jealous, which will, in the end, lead to their salvation also.

It will be powerful when Israel accepts the gospel!

Verses 16-24. Remember that your salvation hinges on what God did through Israel. So appreciate the Jews. Do not despise them (Romans 9:4-5).

Don't think you're better than the Jews. Be humble and serious about your faith because, as a Gentile, you could just as easily fall away, if you're not careful.

Remember that salvation is more natural to the Jews than it is to the Gentilesbecause Christianity came from Jews. Jesus and the apostles were Jewish!

Verses 25-32

Israel's blindness is temporary. After all the Gentiles that can be saved come into the kingdom, the nation of Israel will return to God.

Although a Hebrew person is unsaved without Christ, no Hebrew person will be hardened by God. God is preserving the Jewish people until it is time for the nation to turn to Him again (Jeremiah 30:11).

Verses 33-36

The story of Israel's rejection of Jesus, and how God uses the Gentiles to bring Israel back to Him, shows how great His wisdom is.

God causes everything to end in bringing glory to Himself. Do not worry about those who reject the gospel. Everything will work out for God's glory in the end.
