Verses 1-5

  • Our faith gives us peace with God and peace in any hardship that we face.

    • Remember that hardship helps to grow you and make your stronger.

Verses 6-11

  • Peace is knowing this: If Christ was willing to die for us and rescue us while we were still against Him, we know that we have great favor and love from Him now that we are His friends (Romans 8:32).

    • Know for certain that God loves you because He sent His Son to die for you.

    • Receiving Jesus gives us a relationship with God—it makes us friends of God.

Verses 12-21

  • Verse 16. Adam's sin brought spiritual and physical death in the world (1 Corinthians 15:20-22).

  • Jesus came to give us righteousness like Adam gave us sin and death. How so?

    • Adam's actions, as one man, made all of us sinners.

    • Even so, Jesus' actions, as one Man, make all of us righteous and forgiven.

  • Verses 20-21. A lot of sin has spread in the world, but now God's grace can spread, and it is more powerful than sin.

    • God's grace gives us the ability to live righteously, and it gives us eternal life.

      • Now that grace has made you righteous, live like it!
