Verses 1-10
-
At the close of the Tribulation, when all the evil establishments in the earth have been destroyed, we will rejoice and praise God, and a great marriage will be announced. This refers to the moment when Christ returns to earth to receive His church as His very own bride.
-
He receives us in a state of purity. We are clothed in the righteous acts that we did. This makes it obvious that being clean before God does require turning away from sin.
-
If you want to be unashamed before Christ, when He returns to receive you, abide in Him by living a holy life (1 John 2:28-29, 3:24). Be presented before Him as a chaste virgin who has never slept with the world (2 Corinthians 11:2).

Verse 10. All true prophecy is focused on the gospel of Jesus Christ. Jesus is at the center of every true message from God.
-
Keep the message about Christ, His walk, and His death and resurrection at the center of everything you do!

Verses 11-21
-
When Christ returns, He will come with all of heaven's armies. He will both receive us who are alive until this day to Himself (1 Thessalonians 4:17), and destroy the antichrist and his armies and the false prophet.
-
He defeats the antichrist with the sword of His mouth (Revelation 2:16). This will means a bright flash of fiery lightning (like the glittering of a sword), that both is and is created by His Word (Isaiah 66:16, 2 Thessalonians 2:8).
-
Even today, the Word of God is the sword of the Spirit (Ephesians 6:17). When you are faced with evil and sin, speak God's Word, obey it, and help others to obey it. This defeats the enemy every time.
