Verses 1-6

Humans can be cruel, and especially with their words. The sin in the hearts of men is deep—people's thoughts can be very wicked.

And people often do not fear the consequences of their cruel thoughts and actions.

Above all, pray to be protected from the fear of man. Fear of man is more dangerous than man himself. To be delivered from fear will preserve your life.

Notice that David did not pray to be delivered from man, but from fear. To be crippled by fear is a greater trap than to fall into the plots of man. God can pull you out of any trap of man, but if you choose to plunge into fear, it is very hard to get out. If you feel fear, simply turn away. Remember to trust in God!

In the end, the wicked will all come to fear God and His judgment, while we will rejoice.
