Psalm 93

Verses 1-2

  • King Jesus reigns over all creation, and His rule is strong. We can rest assured that just as no enemy can overthrow His rule, no force can destroy the earth except the power of God. God keeps both His reign and the earth stable and secure.

    • Don't trouble yourself over thoughts or threats of utter calamity for the earth. The earth will not fail unless the Lord commands it.

Verses 3-4

  • Whether it be literal flood of water, a flood of evil, or any seemingly unstoppable and overwhelming force, it cannot succeed against God.

    • If you feel overwhelmed with any sound or voice or thought of destruction, remember that God is mightier (Isaiah 59:19). Evil will not prevail (Matthew 16:18).

Verse 5

  • Just as God always has the victory, His words are always true. We can trust that following His commands will bring perfect results. Knowing this, walk in His commands, and choose holiness!

  • We, as believers, are the house of God (Hebrews 3:6). And if we hold firmly to God's Word, and walk in holiness in so doing, our lives will be beautiful to God.

    • Desire that your devotion to God's Word be as sure as the Word itself. Just as the Word does not fail, we should make it our aim to never fail at believing and obeying it.
