Verses 1-9

Verses 1-4. Wisdom is always trying to get our attention, and there are always opportunities to gain it.

Verses 5-8. God's wisdom is only good and leads you into good; it will never lead you into sin or anything bad for you.

Verse 9. Seek to gain knowledge from the Word and you will gain deeper understanding of why it is always good to obey the Word.

You will come to trust the Word more deeply.

Verses 10-16

Wisdom is better than all riches. If you gain wisdom and fear God:

You will hate sin,
-
You'll be strong-minded, and
-
You'll be able to govern your life like a great king.

Verses 17-21

If you love wisdom, your wisdom will bring you many blessings in your life, including more wealth.

Do not seek wisdom for money, but understand that having wisdom does create more wealth.

Understand that God is not against us having money. But desire wisdom; do not desire to be rich (1 Timothy 6:9). If you seek wisdom, God will be able to trust you with more money.

Verses 22-31

Wisdom is in God (John 1:1), and through wisdom God made the universe.
Verses 32-35

Having God's wisdom will bring great benefit to you. To gain His wisdom, seek it every day. How?

Read the Word every day.

Practice praying and listening to the Spirit every day (the Spirit brings wisdom [Ephesians 1:17]).

Do this by taking time for focused prayer and listening each morning (Isaiah 50:4).

Do this by, throughout your day, consistently praying and asking God for guidance in your actions.

Verse 36
-
Remember that if you neglect or reject wisdom, you will only hurt yourself.

You love death as much as you ignore wisdom. Every time you ignore a chance seek or gain wisdom, you are showing that you prefer death.
