Verses 1-4

It is very important that an unmarried believer looks to marry another believer (2 Corinthians 6:14). It can be helpful to look for a spouse amongst a community of believers.

Do not marry an unbeliever. This is disobedient to the Word.

Verses 12-17

Finding a spouse most often requires the work of searching (Proverbs 18:22, 31:10).

Verse 12. God will make your searching and efforts to find a spouse successful if you are looking for a marriage that will honor Him.

Anything that you do to honor God, while working hard, will be successful (Psalm 37:5).

Verses 18-21

Verses 18-21. It is good to look for a spouse that is hardworking and a servant to others, as was Rebekah.

For husband, it is good to look for a man that is diligent to serve by working hard to earn provision for his household.

Verses 18-21, 58. For a wife, it is good to look for a woman that is diligent to serve by being hospitable and submissive.

When you have the opportunity to do something good, it is important to accomplish it quickly, so long as you do it well. Do not delay to do what is good (Galatians 6:9, Proverbs 10:4). Live urgently.
Verses 65-67

You will have a lot of love in your marriage if it honors God.

Having a godly spouse will be a great comfort to you in time of need.
