Verses 1-10
-
Learn these things about demons:
-
Demons—being angelic—have angelic strength, and can impart that strength to human vessels that they possess.
-
Demons can and will harm the bodies of those they possess.
-
Many demons can possess one person at the same time.
-
Verses 11-13
-
You can cast demons into animals. You don't have to just cast them out.
-
Understand that, if you ever have to cast out demons, casting them into animals can often be a better solution. Why?
-
Demons that are left to wander may possess human bystanders (Matthew 12:43). Casting them into animals can be safer for people that are present.

Verses 14-20
-
Notice that Jesus came to the country of the Gaderenes, after crossing the Sea of Galilee, for the sake of one man.
-
And this one man ended being the only one who could preach about Jesus in the city, because Jesus was forced to leave. So, Jesus encouraged the man to preach in the city because He could not.
-
For evangelism, understand that you may be sent to place even for one person. Pay attention to individuals everywhere!
-
And know that, for certain people, there might be others that are able to reach someone that you cannot.
-
Don't always try to do everything yourself. Think about how you can work together with other believers to reach people that are unreachable for you!

Verses 21-34
-
Notice that Jairus had total confidence in Jesus that his daughter would be healed if He came and laid His hands on her.
-
The woman with the issue of blood believed that she would be healing if only she touched Jesus' clothing
-
But, earlier in Jesus' ministry, a centurion knew that healing would be granted if Jesus “only spoke a word” (Matthew 8:5-9).
-
Many things are given to us by God to the extent that we ourselves believe. A key phrase is, “Your faith has made you well” (verse 34).
-
-
Trust that God can do anything; don't limit Him in your mind. But remember that there are times when we receive only to the extent that we believe. So, where you have confidence is what you should take action on.
-
Jesus went with Jairus to lay hands on his daughter because that's where his faith was at, and that's what he acted on. The same for the woman with the issue of blood. Her action showed where she believed, and so she was healed.
-
Verses 27-34. Notice that many people pressed Jesus, touching Him. But the one who was healed had faith. Belief is important!
-
-
Any faith that you have will benefit you; so act on what you believe!
-
Just remember that your faith should increase, and then you will see even swifter results!

Verses 35-36
-
Death does not have to be the end. They needed to learn that even a seemingly hopeless situation is not hopeless for Jesus.
-
Our job? Don't be afraid. Faith does not fear. Know that the presence of fear weakens faith.
-
See teaching on Mark 4:35-41 for more details.
-
Verses 37-44
-
Verses 37-40. Understand that some people should not witness certain works.
-
The crowd that was removed from the house would have been disturbed by seeing the girl raised from the dead (such works can be scary for some people); so Jesus removed them for their own sake.
-
-
Verse 37. Notice also, in this verse, that Jesus brought Peter, James, and John into the room in raising her from the dead. This was for their training (we know that Peter performed a resurrection later in his life [Acts 9]).
-
For us to be trained well for the kingdom, we need to be trained through sights and experiences, not just instruction.
-
Take actions that give you valuable experiences, and this will help you grow!
-
-
Verses 42-43. Amazement with a miracle does not mean the story should be shared. Not all knowledge is meant to be shared, especially when it concerns extraordinary miracles.
-
You can sow more doubt in a person if you share stories they're not ready to head. Know this and be wise and discreet in what you say.
