Luke 18

Written on 05/10/2024

Verses 1-8

  • As stated in the first verse, the point is that we pray diligently without giving up or slowing down.

  • If unjust judges can be persuaded to action by much persistence, how much more shall God take action on our prayers! God does answer prayers! Trust this!

  • Verse 8. When Christ returns, He will not find much faith in the earth. Show and build your faith now by always praying!

Verses 9-14

  • The self-righteous—those who try to save themselves by their good deeds—will be condemned, but those who quickly admit their sins and cry out to God for His mercy will be saved.

    • Even as a believer, if you see yourself as better or more righteous than an unbeliever, you are showing that you're arrogantly trusting in your own good works. Don't look down on unbelievers

      • Always remind yourself that you need God's mercy. We are not better than unbelievers. By our works we are all sinners.
