Entirety of this chapter speaks to the Great Tribulation, which is when God will bring His sword of judgment upon all nations and the whole planet, including its solar system.

The world will be filled with blood and corpses due to the great amount of death. Rivers and bodies of water will dry, many will turn to blood, and the sun and fires from heaven will scorch the landscapes (see Revelation 16). The world will also be given over to horrifying and demonic creatures that will roam and kill (see Isaiah 13, Isaiah 27, and Revelation 9).

The fire and smoke of God's judgment upon the earth will continue forever (Revelation 19:2-3), as the lake of fire will always burn (Revelation 14:9-11).
