Verses 1-8
-
When godly leadership is in place, and ultimately when we are led by Christ, spiritually speaking, we are able to see, hear, and understand clearly.
-
Also, foolishness will be clear. Sin will be exposed, and no one will be able to pretend to be righteous.
-
All of us have a mind and ears, but we often do not listen to the Word nor the Spirit.
-
Find leaders and believers that push you to listen to the Word, and that won't tolerate hypocrisy or fake belief. These people will bring life and safety to you, like shelter and refreshment of water.
-
Verses 9-15
-
It is wrong to complacent and eased (Zephaniah 1:12, Proverbs 1:32). Do not seek to be comfortable. Choose the difficulties of obeying God's Word, and you will see the power of the Spirit in your life making you truly fruitful (Galatians 5:22).
Verses 16-20
-
In choosing obedience to God, and possessing the Holy Spirit, we will not be eased or complacent, but we will have the fruit of true peace and joy. The world could be in chaos, but we will have peace!
