Psalm 32

Written on 05/09/2024

Verses 1-5

  • Verses 1-2. The blessing of salvation—the greatest blessing—comes from being forgiven of sin through faith in Christ (Romans 4:6-9).

  • Verses 3-5. In order to be forgiven/saved, one of the first steps is to confess that we are sinners. A person has to acknowledge their sins in order to be saved (1 John 1:8-9).

    • As a continual practice in your life, when you sin, admit it quickly. If you don't acknowledge your sins, or try to hide them, it will cause you pain (verse 3).

Verses 6-7

  • God is present nowPray to Him in all situations.

    • Remember that He protects you!

Verses 8-9

  • God doesn't want you to be stubborn, or have to be urged or pushed to do what is right.

  • Seek understanding of the Word for yourself, and desire to do what it says.

Verses 10-11

  • This is another reminder that sin will lead to sadness. But if you trust in God through prayer and obedience to Him, there will be much good from Him in your life and you'll be spared from many troubles.

  • Having God in your life is something to rejoice about! Be joyful!
