Hebrews 3

Written on 05/10/2024

Verses 1-6

  • Now we learn that Jesus is greater than Moses. Moses was a member of the household of God, but Jesus built that household. Since “He who built all things is God”, this makes Jesus God.

  • As Moses was faithful to the Israelites, Jesus is faithful to us, and we are His household if we keep our faith until the end (Matthew 10:22).

    • Verse 6. Being saved by faith requires staying in faith. And faith has to be maintained attentively.

      • Keep strengthening your faith, so that it survives when times are hard.

Verses 7-15

  • You also be faithful to Christ and strong until the end. This will take daily action and encouragement.

  • Listen to the Word daily, and solemnly encourage your fellow believers to do the same daily.

    • You need to read, learn, and be in fellowship with other believers as often as possible. Communicate daily with believers!

  • If you ever stop listening, encouraging, or being encouraged, your heart will be hardened and your faith weakened by unbelief.

    • Even believers can become rebellious if they're not careful.

Verses 16-19

  • The Israelites also heard the Word, but they rebelled. Because of their disobedience and unbelief, they fell away.

    • They saw miracles on a daily basis for forty years! But they rebelled because they stopped listening and obeying.

    • Miracles can't save you, nor does seeing mean believing. Listening and obeying is what will keep your faith strong!
