Verses 1-8

Knowing that there is no satisfaction in the world, don't look to the world or its pleasures to quench your thirsts.

Instead, seek God early and often. God alone brings satisfaction and joy. His love is truly better than one's earthly life.

Those who please God and overcome the devil “do not love their lives to the death” (Revelation 12:11). Love God more than your own life. Prefer His will over your own pleasure and comfort every time.

To love God well:

Seek God first thing in the morning—early in the day.

Seek God while you have your youth—early in life.

Seek God before times are hard—early in season.

When you are awake at night, meditate on how God has been your help.

Follow Christ closely, and you will be strong.
Verses 9-11

Those who seek to harm believers will suffer God's judgment, but we who are believers, since we are committed to Christ, will have joy in Him forever.
