Acts 27

Verses 1-20

  • Like Paul, if you discern that danger is approaching, warn people! Care about the lives of the people around you and voice your concerns!

Verses 21-38

  • Paul's faith was an encouragement to the rest of the men on the ship with him.

    • The men on this ship at first did not believe in God, but Paul believed in God; and they were able to take solace in Paul's belief, if not their own.

  • Paul spoke of his faith, prayed and gave thanks to God boldly. Eventually, even some of the sailors prayed to God, likely because of Paul's influence (verse 29).

    • Remember that your faith will be comforting to others, so be bold about it. Eventually, people will learn to trust you, which, in turn, will lead them to trust in the God that you trust in.

Verses 39-44

  • Just as Paul had assured them, everyone escaped safely to land. No life was lost.

  • And the centurion, leading the voyage, grew to admire Paul, and wanted to save his life. As a result, the lives of others were also spared.

    • Remember that if you conduct yourself honorably and lovingly, people will want to preserve your life. So make friends everywhere. Relationships will protect you in times of need.
