Verses 1-5

Expose false/demonic teachings and teach the truth.

Know that evil spirits (demons) can speak to you in a way that you can hear, just like the Holy Spirit speaks to you.

It is demonic to add commands that are not in the Bible.

Forcing celibacy and a strict diet, in order to follow Christ, are commands from the devil.

Such commands appear spiritual, but it is deception at its best.

Verses 6-11

Teach from the Word. Do not teach or entertain topics that are meaningless.

Prioritize and teach living a godly life. Anything that doesn't help you become more godly isn't worth your while.

Godliness is what's important for this life and the life to come.

Verses 12-16

Verse 12. Especially if you're young, work hard at being mature and a good example in all areas.

Exemplary character will make you blameless, and people won't discredit you for your age.

Verse 14. Be a good steward of your gifts and abilities by using them to help others.

If you neglect using your gifts, they can be taken away (Matthew 25:29).

Verses 13, 15-16. Focus heavily on your study of the Word.

Having sound doctrine saves lives! Bad teaching kills!
