Day 4 - Reading Assignment

Written on 06/23/2024

As believers, our purpose as citizens of the kingdom is to obey God, and to serve His kingdom by helping others to obey God (to become citizens of the kingdom). Our purpose, in other words, is to know God and make Him known. True fulfillment comes from living for that purpose. “Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness”, Jesus said Matthew 6:33.

Your first priorities in life are to:

  1. Love God with all your being Matthew 22:35-38.
  2. Love others as yourself Matthew 22:39.

As a result of accepting these two commands, you will live by kingdom's standards in obeying the Word, and you will expand the kingdom by helping others to obey the Word (this will bring others into the kingdom, so that they can live with God and us forever) Matthew 28:18-20.

Today's Action

Reflect. Think about how you can redirect your life to seek first the priorities of God's kingdom, rather than your own agenda. Try journaling about this!
