Day 3 - Reading Assignment

Written on 06/18/2024

When you get the chance, share the gospel, and keep it simple. Here is one example of what you could say:

God created us for relationship with Him, and He gave us conditions for relationship -- right and wrong.

But we've all chosen to disobey God and break His laws. Because of our sins, we deserve to go to hell and suffer the punishment of God's wrath.

So God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to die and take the punishment that we deserve.

If we turn away from our sins and believe in Jesus by following His teachings, we are forgiven for our sins and saved from God's wrath.

Then we will have a relationship with God, receive a new life free from sin, and have eternal life (you'll live in heaven after you die).

If a person receives and believes the gospel, first help them understand how to begin repenting. After they've shown proof that they are turning from their sins and have fully received the Word, baptize them, and then add them to your church! If you need it, get help from your community to continually teach this new believer, to get them grounded in the faith.

To sum it all up:

  1. Get your life in order so people respect you and actually want to talk to you.
  2. Build relationships with unbelievers. Be helpful to them!
  3. Tell them about Jesus (share the gospel) when they're ready to hear it.
  4. When they decide to follow Christ, baptize them and welcome them into your community!
