In fact, the trials we face are meant by God to prove that our faith and salvation is real. If your faith survives a fiery trial, you can know it was real. Fake or insincere faith gives up when trials test it. So rather than dreading trials for fear of them weakening us, we ought to anticipate the encouragement that will come when surviving the trial will show that our faith must be real.
